Dr. David Jacobson
Dr. Jacobson has been passionate about the field of dentistry since he was a young child. He enjoyed visiting the dentist so much that he tried to see the reflection in his provider’s glasses to see what he was doing while he worked.
This early interest remained with him his whole life, so it was only natural that he decided to pursue a career in the field of oral healthcare. He began his education at Syracuse University and then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery and completed the Advanced Education in Endodontics program at New York University.
Today, Dr. Jacobson is a member of several prestigious organizations, including the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Endodontics, the New York State Dental Association, and the New York State Association of Endodontics, to stay current with the most recent upgrades in technology and techniques.
When he’s not in the office helping patients near Upper East Side overcome their fear of root canals or alleviating toothaches, you can find Dr. Jacobson with his spouse and their daughter enjoying quality family time. He also enjoys cooking, trying new cuisines, and outdoor hobbies like fishing, golfing, and cycling.
Dr. Joshua Chubak
Dr. Chubak has more than a decade of experience as a certified endodontist in New York City, so you can trust that your smile is in good hands. He’s passionate about taking the time to establish a positive relationship with patients to help them feel comfortable and confident. Once he understands more about your unique concerns and goals, he strives to provide stress-free treatments to address them. He combines a caring approach with state-of-the-art technology to exceed your expectations near Upper East Side while delivering accurate treatment results intended to last.
Dr. Chubak achieved his dental degree at the NYU College of Dentistry before completing his residency through NYU Langone Dental Medicine, Brooklyn at Long Island College Hospital. He then earned his endodontics specialty certificate at NYU. Today, he teaches dental residents at the Cornell Hospital and is a faculty member of the NYU College of Dentistry Department of Endodontics.
Dr. Chubak is married and has three beautiful children whom he adores. He spends as much time with them as he can when he’s not working and stays active by coaching softball on the weekends or engaging in various activities, like bowling, baseball, and skiing.
Dr. Ali Forghani
Dr. Ali Forghani enjoys helping improve patients’ lives by providing easy, comfortable root canals to alleviate their aches. Ever since he was a child, he knew he wanted to work with his hands when he grew up. He also always felt passionate about helping people ease chronic pain and improve their health. It wasn’t long before he realized that the field of dentistry allowed him to combine these two goals into a single career.
He graduated from the New York University College of Dentistry, where he stayed to complete his advanced education in endodontics. He also has extensive training and experience in various surgical and nonsurgical procedures and currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor in the NYU Department of Postgraduate Endodontics program. If that wasn’t enough, he also travels periodically with a global outreach program that provides dental care to underserved populations in Nepal, Maine, Mexico, and Grenada.
Outside of the office, Dr. Forghani likes to spend his time listening to music, cooking, learning new languages, or staying active running, surfing, or playing soccer.
Dr. Christine Choi
Dr. Christine Choi
Dr. Choi has more than a decade of experience helping improve people’s lives by rejuvenating their smiles. She is particularly proud of alleviating toothaches and other issues to help patients look and feel happy and healthy.
Dr. Choi initially considered a career in dentistry after being involved in a dental outreach program in Mexico. Her experience had such a positive impact on her life that she wanted to carry that momentum forward and create similar experiences for her own patients near Upper East Side.
Dr. Choi earned both her undergraduate degree and her Doctor of Dental Surgery at New York University, then completed a GPR at Mount Sinai Hospital. She eventually returned to NYU to complete their post-graduate endodontics program, and is currently an active member of various professional organizations, like the New York State Dental Association, the American Academy of Endodontics, and the American Dental Association.
Born in Brazil, today Dr. Choi is fluent in four languages and enjoys spending time with her husband traveling, trying new foods, visiting museums, and staying fit with activities like cycling, yoga, and hiking in the great outdoors.
Dr. Hannah Heck
Born and raised in New York City, Dr. Heck has a deep love for the local communities and strives to give back by helping people improve their oral health. She initially went to school for international studies, but shifted gears and registered for a post-baccalaureate program at NYU. Then, she earned her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry with honors from the prestigious Harvard University.
Throughout her education, Dr. Heck volunteered to help underserved communities, where she discovered a passion for endodontics. She completed her specialty training at Tufts University and now strives to bring her unique, caring approach to every interaction.
When she’s not providing top-quality services to improve your dental health, Dr. Heck likes to dance, travel, and spend time on the beach. She’s also a fan of Pilates to stay active, enjoys independent films, and can occasionally be found exploring the contemporary art scene in New York City.

What level of education is required to be a dentist?
The first step on a long path to becoming a dentist is obtaining a bachelor’s degree (usually in a major that’s heavy in math and sciences). Then, they must be accepted to one of only 67 accredited dental schools in the U.S. After completing rigorous in-classroom and hands-on training, they will earn their Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or a Doctor of Dental Sciences (DDS) degree.
Of course, endodontists need to undergo even more training. They must complete additional schooling in endodontics as well as pursue continuing education with professional associations, like the American Academy of Endodontists.
