Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
From early on in life, Dr. Forghani knew that he wanted to work directly with his hands when it came to a future career. He’s also always been passionate about the idea of helping people escape serious pain and feel better than ever. Soon enough, he realized that dentistry (and particularly endodontics) was the perfect fit for his strengths and interests. The rest is history!
Service Before Specialty: A Unique Path to Endodontics
After studying at the New York University College of Dentistry, Dr. Forghani completed his advanced education in endodontics at NYU as well, receiving extensive training in surgical/nonsurgical procedures. He currently serves as Clinical Associate Professor in their Department of Postgraduate Endodontics program and even travels periodically with the global outreach program, providing dental care to underserved populations in Grenada, Mexico, Maine, and Nepal.
Where Did You Study Endodontics?
After completing his military service, Dr. Whitmore pursued specialized training in endodontics at the prestigious New York University Endodontic Residency program. NYU's program is recognized as one of the finest endodontic training programs in the nation, providing advanced education in root canal therapy, endodontic surgery, and dental trauma management.
During his time at NYU, Dr. Whitmore's dedication to research and clinical excellence was recognized when he won the Resident Award for Oral Research from the American Association of Endodontists. This honor reflects his commitment to advancing the field of endodontics and staying at the forefront of the latest techniques and technologies.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Dr. Whitmore now calls New York City home. He lives with his wife and their two beloved cats, Toast and Oatmeal, who bring joy and companionship to their household.
His lifestyle is active, as he enjoys working out as often as possible, focusing on weightlifting, biking, and kickboxing. Beyond fitness, he enjoys collecting and caring for plants, which he finds both relaxing and rewarding. He also has a passion for travel, exploring new places whenever possible, and shopping for clothes. Quality time playing with Toast and Oatmeal rounds out his downtime activities.

An interesting fact about Dr. Whitmore is that he has extremely long arms for his height and can touch his knees without bending over! This unique physical trait is just one of the things that makes him memorable to patients and colleagues alike.
